inVent: I keep seeing people skip the flux when forge welding and it's a bad move
Baking soda will get the job done in a pinch, but that popping is moisture turning to steam. Proper flux is made to handle the heat without all that mess. You can find cheap, real flux that works way better for just a few bucks.

inPSA: Saw a brick archway on a new apartment building downtown and the mortar joints look way too thin, maybe 3/8 inch. Is that a new style or a problem?
Disagree with max963, thin joints can mean they skimped on the mortar and that's a real worry.

inMy entire long box of 90s X-Men comics got water damaged in the basement flood last week. I'm still mad about it.
Yeah, the 90s runs were no joke. My buddy tried to move his whole X-Men collection once, just one long box. It was all the big crossover stuff, like every single "X-Cutioner's Song" tie-in and all those "X-Force" issues with the shiny covers. He picked it up wrong and the bottom just gave out, comics everywhere. @jordan464, it was like a flood of polybagged copies and hologram cards, a total nightmare to sort. Took him a whole weekend to get them back in order.

inBought a cheap camera just for clouds and it changed my whole hobby
Oh man, binoculars are a game changer! I did the same thing with an old pair I found. Suddenly those fluffy cumulus clouds weren't just smooth blobs, I could see all the crazy cauliflower shapes and deep shadows. It felt like I was flying right next to them. That's what really hooked me, just seeing how much detail is up there when you look a little closer.

inMy friend roasted my recycling bin setup
Oh man, my buddy got called out for his light switch habits! His roommate saw him leave a room and just walk away, and was like 'Dude, the vampire energy is real.' He had NO idea that stuff on standby still pulls power. Now he's this power strip ninja, cutting off the TV, game console, the whole entertainment center at night.
