Read somewhere that Python's easier for logic, JavaScript for making stuff happen on a screen. Like, Python's good for your number game. JavaScript is what makes a button change color when you click it. Starting with Python gets you thinking like a programmer faster. Then you can add JavaScript later to put your logic on a website.
Three hours on that choice is a whole new kind of tutorial hell. I mean, at least you got a game out of it. I would have probably given up and just reorganized my bookshelf by color instead.
