Always thought the 6.0 Powerstroke head bolt torque spec was just a number until I saw a blown gasket from a guy who guessed it.
Found a forum post from a guy in Dallas who measured the stretch on a reused bolt after 3 tries and it was off by 0.002 inches, which completely changed how I view the factory service manual.

Honestly that's how it goes with so many stuff that seems like just rules on paper. Tbh people skip torque specs and proper procedures all the time thinking it's overkill, then wonder why things fail. Ngl I see it at work with equipment, people wing it until something breaks and costs way more to fix. That tiny measurement being off proves the manual isn't just making things up.
