My friend roasted my recycling bin setup
She came over, pointed at my single kitchen bin, and said 'You're just making more work for yourself, separate it at the source!' So I got two small bins for under the sink, one for paper and one for cans. What's the one eco-habit someone had to point out to you?

Oh man, my buddy got called out for his light switch habits! His roommate saw him leave a room and just walk away, and was like 'Dude, the vampire energy is real.' He had NO idea that stuff on standby still pulls power. Now he's this power strip ninja, cutting off the TV, game console, the whole entertainment center at night.

Honestly, that setup sounds more efficient to me. Sorting everything at the curb is a pain. I just have the one kitchen bin too, and I sort it all into the big outdoor bins once a week. It takes five minutes. Having multiple small bins under the sink just eats up storage space and feels like clutter. My habit was using a clothesline instead of the dryer. A neighbor mentioned it looked old-fashioned, but the electric bill dropped a lot.
