inMy sourdough starter completely died after the power outage
Actually, eight hours in a warm fridge probably didn't kill it. That's not that long. The real test is if it smells like nail polish remover or just went totally flat. Try feeding a tiny bit, like a teaspoon, with equal parts flour and water and see if it bubbles after a day.

inVent: I saw a pitmaster in Memphis using a hair dryer on his ribs
A hair dryer? Good grief, I've heard it all now. I can't get past the idea of someone firing up a Conair next to their smoker. It sounds like a joke, but I guess if the humidity was bad enough you'd try anything. I just hope he wasn't using the same one his wife uses on her hair.

inMy presentation crashed in front of the whole marketing team
Ever notice how the person handling a tech fail calmly always ends up looking more competent than if everything went perfect? Your quick switch to phone slides probably made you seem more prepared, not less. Those moments show real problem solving skills that a smooth presentation just can't. The team likely remembers how you fixed it more than the crash itself.

inHonestly, a customer told me my signature burger was 'too perfect' and it actually made sense
Guess my cooking is just too uptight then.

inMy sister told me to try a new way to mix my clay mask and it actually worked
Oh wow, that's so true! My friend, who just cooks at home, saw me struggling with a wax warmer and told me to put a tiny bit of coconut oil in first, just like @kaimiller's mom had a better method. It heats way more evenly now and never sticks. It's funny how the best tips come from outside the bubble.
