Used to write the whole story out, now I just bullet point the facts
Back when I first told my daughter's birth mom story at a support group, I'd ramble for 20 minutes trying to get every detail right, and people would get lost. Last month at the Tuesday meeting in Tacoma, I tried just listing the key dates and feelings on an index card, like 'placement at 3 days, saw her at 2 months, first call at 1 year'. It came out way clearer and someone actually asked me a follow-up about how I handled the first birthday visit. Has anyone else found that shorter updates to family or case workers feel less heavy than the long version?
