The $3 ham sandwich at the Denver bus station lunch counter ruined all my meal prep
I was stuck at Union Station in Denver last Tuesday waiting 4 hours for a delayed bus and grabbed a ham sandwich from this little counter inside for $3. It came with a scoop of potato salad and a pickle and I sat there eating it watching everyone else buy $12 salads. I had just spent $80 at the grocery store that weekend prepping 5 days of chicken and rice and I sat there realizing the sandwich was better and cheaper than anything I made. Now I keep thinking about how much I spent on containers and ingredients to save money that I didn't actually save. Does anyone else find that cheap counter food beats their meal prep on both cost and taste, or am I just lazy?
