inPSA: Stop buying expensive craft foam for armor, a $3 yoga mat from Goodwill works just as well.
My local hardware store sells these big rubber floor mats for five bucks. I used one for a pauldron last year and it held up through three sweaty convention days without a crack. It's wild how many perfect materials are just sitting in plain sight, labeled for something else. I've seen people make amazing stuff from old car floor mats and even those foam pool noodles. The best part of this hobby is the clever reuse.

inHot take: I was at the Kinokuniya in Seattle and overheard two people arguing about whether 'subs vs dubs' is even a valid debate anymore.
Yeah, that "connects with the character" point is key. I mean, sometimes the official dub just misses the vibe completely, but other times an actor really gets it. It's less about one being better and more about which version actually makes you feel something for the person on screen.

inQuestion about alternate endings for 'The Giver' - I got way too deep into one idea and it ate up my whole weekend
Wasted your whole weekend because that idea breaks the book's point. The story isn't about fixing the community, it's about escaping it. Jonas bringing back memories turns him into the thing he ran from, a controller. The political fallout you plotted is exactly what the book rejects, the messy fight over power. The beauty is in the unknown, not in building a new system of rules.

inA crawl space in Spokane taught me to always check the whole run
But is it always a coupler problem? Sometimes the cable itself degrades over time. I've seen plenty of cases where replacing the coupler didn't fix a thing.

inMy cat kept peeing on the same rug for 6 months until I figured out it was the scent of the old cleaner.
Actually mint is often safe for cats, but lavender and pine oils can be toxic. Their noses pick up way more than we realize.
