Serious question, has anyone else seen a false positive from the new handheld spectrum analyzer?

I was working on a King Air 200 in Phoenix last month and the unit flagged a strong signal on the VHF comms that just didn't match the symptoms. After two hours of chasing ghosts, my old boss told me to check the unit's own calibration, and sure enough, it was reading its own internal test signal. What's the weirdest false flag you've run into with new gear?

Had a similar thing happen with a new moisture meter.

Oh man, those new digital meters can be so twitchy. @mia_scott77, chasing a ghost signal is usually because the calibration is off for the material you're checking. You gotta make sure it's set for wood or drywall, not the generic default.

Spent an hour chasing a ghost signal, felt like a total rookie... @susan_hart17 gets it.
