inOverheard a landlord say 'never rent to someone with a storage unit' at an open house in Austin
Wait, a landlord actually thinks having a storage unit means you're a hoarder? That's like saying someone who owns a toolbox is a mechanic. I've had a 5x10 unit for three years just because my apartment has zero closet space and I refuse to get rid of my snowboard gear, and there's no way I'm paying Austin prices for a bigger place just to avoid a landlord's weird hangup. Honestly, if they're that quick to judge a storage unit, they're probably the same type who peeks in your car to see if it's messy before deciding to rent to you.

inMy 1984 Walkman fixed my impatience problem, not the other way around
The strobe disc thing really gets you in a different headspace, doesn't it. That repetitive check, adjust, check again rhythm is almost meditative. Nobody rushes a capstan alignment, it just doesn't work that way. So yeah, the tape deck teaches you patience by force, not by choice. Makes you wonder what other stuff we'd slow down for if we actually fixed it instead of replacing it.
