I finally stopped arguing with the guy who called brick 'just stacked rectangles'

He said it at a backyard BBQ in Columbus while leaning on a 12 inch wall that took me and two helpers 3 days to lay right. My first thought was to get mad, but then I realized half the neighbors nodding along have no clue what a level line and a full bed of mortar actually do. How do you explain the trade to folks like that without sounding like a snob?
