Overheard a bookseller say 'school editions are the enemy' and now I get it
I was at a used book fair in Portland last weekend, and a dealer told a customer that any 'school edition' of a classic is basically worthless, like a markup trap for parents. That got me thinking about the copy of '1984' I bought for $18 at a chain store, only to find out it had study questions in the back. Those books are printed in the thousands, not rare at all, and resellers know it. Has anyone else paid full price for a textbook-looking edition and felt cheated after checking the resale value?

My bookshelf's full of 'em, so I'm the real enemy here.
