Spent 8 hours fixing a core box that should have taken 30 minutes

Wait hold on, @lunah86. Define "big picture" here. Are we talking about a rough sketch of the whole scene or literally a giant canvas you're trying to map out first? Cause that tiny draft could be useless if it doesn't fit the real scale. I've seen people waste hours on a "big picture" that changes completely once they hit the details. What's the actual goal for this thing?

A client's bad reaction made me rethink the 'no pain, no gain' approach to extractions

My buddy's been doing facials for about 12 years now and he says the same thing your instructor did. But here's where I see it different. Sometimes those stubborn blackheads, especially on the nose, they've been sitting there for months or years. You can't always get them out gentle. I've had clients tell me go harder, then get mad at me later for listening to them. It's a fine line. If I back off too much, I leave stuff in there and they come back saying I didn't do my job right. So I end up with unhappy clients either way. I think a lot of it comes down to the client knowing their own skin better than I do. You gotta find that middle spot between being too rough and leaving them with a face full of gunk still. Doesn't mean the old school way is always wrong.

Took me 8 months to realize I was overpaying for my phone plan by $30 a month

Too tired to actually look at the fine print" - that's me every single night. I swear my brain just checks out after 8 PM, and that's exactly when all those sneaky charges slip by. It's like my subscription to "Premium Lawn Care Tips" I never signed up for... somehow got charged for 6 months before I noticed. Now I do this thing where I set a calendar reminder every few months to just scroll through all my bank statements with a coffee in hand, looking for anything fishy. Still haven't caught everything though. I just found a $3.99 "membership fee" from some app I downloaded once and forgot about. That one stung because it's been running for like a year.

Just heard someone say you should always use a nail gun for baseboards

Right? @dakota479 probably has a pile of cracked trim in his garage to prove it. Tools don't fix stupid.

My aunt's cornbread recipe fell flat until I swapped the oil for bacon fat last Thanksgiving

Pickle juice in pancakes is unhinged. Stick with bacon fat.
