PSA: Found a trick that actually got the lake smell out of my towels for good
Tried everything from vinegar to baking soda and nothing worked until I added a half cup of borax to the wash cycle on hot... anyone else deal with that musty lake smell clinging to your bath linens from living so close to the water?

...and it's funny you mention that because I've noticed this same pattern with a lot of household stuff. Like, there's always some old-school solution nobody talks about anymore that actually works better than all the fancy stuff at the store. Borax has been around forever but we all forget about it. Same thing happened with my mom's recipe for getting grease stains out of work shirts - she used a paste of dawn and cornstarch, no special spray needed. Your mileage may vary, but sometimes the simplest fix is the one your grandma would've used.
