Vent: Neighbor lectured me about my 'illegal' fence repair in 20 degree weather

Last February I was out replacing a rotted fence panel in my yard in Buffalo. My neighbor comes out in his bathrobe and tells me I'm wasting my time because I didn't pull a permit for a 6 foot section. Said he'd call the city on me. I just looked at him holding my frozen hammer and asked if he wanted to help or grab me a coffee. He went back inside and hasn't brought it up since. Anybody else have a neighbor who acts like the HOA police even when there's no HOA?

Man I probably would've just dropped my hammer and offered to call the city myself while asking if they take complaints about frozen fingers too lol. That coffee comment was gold, bet he thinks twice before coming out in his bathrobe again.

Buddy's neighbor actually did call code enforcement on him for planting tulips too close to the property line.
