inFound a roll of film from a trip to the coast three years ago, just got it back.
My camera bag is basically a black hole for half-shot rolls. I once found one from a family reunion and my cousin's kid in the photos was now in high school. It's a nice surprise, but it also makes me wonder how many other rolls I've lost to old coats and bags over the years.

inHot take: I think everyone overstates the need for a full 8-hour shift on the pump seals.
Man, I hear you. I've done the same thing on longer jobs when the water was clear. That manual is written for the worst case, like you said. If you're not chewing through mud and sand, a solid visual check halfway through the day has always been enough for me too. It's all about knowing your conditions. Those saved minutes really add up by the end of the week.

inMy brilliant plan to sleep in airport lounges went totally sideways
Honestly that whole plan was doomed from the start. Lounges check for same day boarding passes like every hour. Trying to fake sleep just makes you the main character in a security training video. Tbh the universe charged you the idiot tax with that motel bill. We've all had a cheap idea blow up in our face though.

inMy cat tried to 'help' me wrap a gift and it went very wrong
Oh man, the tape dispenser paw trap is a classic. I started keeping a cheap pair of small scissors in my gift wrap box just for cutting my cat free from tape loops. Also, try giving them an empty cardboard box to sit in while you wrap, it sometimes contains the chaos.

inUpdate: The old food court floor at the Sunrise Galleria in Tampa gave way
Yeah right, tell that to my ankle. I twisted it on a loose tile at the mall last month. They "check" stuff, but they miss things all the time. My cousin slipped on a wet floor with a broken sign just last week. Built to last doesn't mean they actually last.
