inOld timers used to grease guide rails with a brush, now everyone wants spray cans that cost $12 each.
Oh man, I gotta jump in here. I actually read a study last year from some elevator maintenance forum where they tracked lubricant use across 40 buildings. The spray cans were costing buildings nearly triple what brush-on grease did over a year because you lose so much to overspray and the cans always fail halfway through. Plus the guy running it said the brush gives you way better control on those tight rail joints where spray just bounces off. I think the real secret is keeping a dedicated brush in a sealed container with the grease, grab it and go, no waiting for the can to warm up or unclog. The spray can crowd can keep their fancy cans, I'll take the old way every time.

inDNF'd that viral 900-page fantasy epic after 3 months of slogging
Did you ever try jumping ahead to see if the last 50 pages changed your mind? I hit the same wall with a popular sci-fi series last year. I was like 600 pages in and just totally checked out on the main character's decisions. What finally worked for me was putting it down for two weeks and reading something short and fun instead. Then I came back with fresh eyes and skimmed the last 100 pages just to get closure. Honestly it still felt like a waste of time but at least I got to say I finished it lol.

inUsed to wrap my brisket in foil, now I'm a butcher paper guy
Are you sure about that though? I've had some pretty rough luck trying to keep things simple, especially when it comes to wrapping. Sometimes a full foil wrap at the right moment locks in all that moisture and makes the meat way more tender than letting it sit there breathing. Just my two cents, but I've had more consistent results with a tighter, more controlled wrap rather than leaving it out in the open.

inTried coworking in a library instead of a cafe in Austin last week
Wait, wait... @the_brooke, are you sure that library has free coffee? Most I've been to don't have vending machines with coffee, just water or snacks... The Austin downtown one definitely doesn't. But yeah, libraries are way underrated for getting work done without spending money on overpriced drinks.

inTried making sourdough starter from scratch, killed it in 3 days
Did you try moving it to a cooler spot or just toss it?
