Finally tried spray foam over fiberglass in my attic, what a difference

I spent last October insulating my attic with fiberglass batts because that's what everyone said to do. But after seeing my heating bill hit $340 in January, I decided to rip it out and go with closed cell spray foam instead. The crew sprayed about 2 inches over 900 square feet and it cost $2,100, which hurt at first. But my February bill dropped to $180, so the math is already working in my favor. The air sealing is the real win, no more drafty spots near the eaves and the attic actually feels stable temperature wise. Fiberglass just sits there letting air move around it, spray foam locks everything down. Has anyone else made this swap and seen similar savings, or did I just get lucky with a mild winter?

That $340 to $180 swing is seriously impressive, I bet you felt that one in your wallet right away. My buddy did the same thing last spring and his AC bills this summer were way lower too, so it sounds like you hit the jackpot on both ends.
