Did you try cutting just outside the branch collar on an angle so water runs off?

Oh wow, 3 hours is rough but I feel this so hard. Actually though, Carl and Carla are pretty different names, so I'm wondering if maybe you were thinking of a totally different character from that whole book? Try running a mix of one part vinegar to two parts water through your glass whip bowl first. Then rinse it real good with hot water. It cuts through any leftover film that soap misses. Also, don't overfill your cream canister. That's a rookie mistake that kills foam no matter what bowl you use.

Not really convinced soft water alone causes bubbles, seems like an easy scapegoat for something else going wrong.
