Why does nobody talk about frozen veggies for meal prep? Changed my whole approach last week
Last month I was throwing out wilted spinach and slimy peppers every Sunday. Costing me like $12 a week in waste. Then my coworker at the plant in Dayton said try frozen. I laughed it off. Figured they were mushy garbage. Last week I bought a bag of frozen mixed vegetables for $1.89. Steamed them in the microwave with some garlic powder. Honestly? Same texture as fresh for what I do in stir fries and soups. Now I'm doing a full meal prep with frozen corn, peas, and broccoli. Saves me probably $40 a month. Has anyone else made the switch and found certain frozen stuff better than fresh?
Did you see that study about how frozen veggies actually keep more nutrients since they get frozen right after picking? That blew my mind. Tbh I used to be a snob about it too but now I keep a bag of frozen spinach in the freezer at all times for smoothies and it's way easier.
