Frozen veggies beat fresh ones for budget cooking every time

Oh wait I gotta push back on something here. The whole "frozen veggies have more nutrients" thing is kinda true but it's way more complicated than people make it sound. Like yeah freezing locks in vitamins right when they're picked but that's mostly for vitamin C and B vitamins which are fragile and degrade fast. Stuff like vitamin A, fiber, and minerals don't really care if they're frozen or fresh. So you're not getting some supercharged nutrition bomb, you're just not losing as much of the delicate stuff. Which is still a win for budget eating don't get me wrong. But I see people act like frozen broccoli is some kind of miracle food when really it's just a solid practical choice that doesn't taste as good as fresh.

Finally compared hardwired vs. wireless on a tricky ranch house install

Every zone came in clean" is exactly why I still go hardwired on concrete block. Just make sure your attic runs don't cross any plumbing vents or you'll be chasing ghost signals for days.

Showerthought: Lately I keep finding control boards with blown caps from cheap power strips

Watched a buddy's phone charger catch fire at his desk off a $5 strip from a gas station. Spend the extra $10 on a name brand, your insurance deductible is way more.

Caught a sneaky concrete cure failure on a 30-yard pour last month

Man that stat doesn't surprise me one bit... I've seen crews in Arizona just spray water once and call it a day, then wonder why the slab looks like a spiderweb two weeks later. Have you ever tried wet burlap and plastic sheeting for the full 72 hours? I swear it makes a difference on those big pours where the heat just sucks the moisture right out. Moisture meter on day 3 sounds smart too, but don't you gotta be careful not to puncture the surface if it's still green? I had a buddy do that once and it left a little crater that turned into a bigger crack later on.

I used to measure twice cut once, now I just do it once and move on

Not gonna lie lining up the tape hook and just cutting at the mark is a solid move but that only works if your blade is dead on the line and you're not compensating for the kerf.
