Saw a Crunchyroll shelf at the Toledo library with 3 copies of the same volume and now I can't stop thinking about it
I stopped by the Toledo library on Michigan Ave last Saturday to return some stuff and wandered into the manga section out of habit. There were three copies of the exact same volume of Demon Slayer, but the first two volumes of the series were missing completely, and half the shelf was random volume 7s and 8s. I asked the librarian at the desk and she said people check out volume 1, never bring it back, and donate whatever they find at garage sales, so the collection just fills up with middle volumes nobody can read. It got me thinking about how hard it is to actually start a series when libraries and even streaming services bury the early stuff. Has anyone else run into a shelf like this, or is it just a Toledo thing?
