I asked my mail carrier what happens to letters to Santa and her answer was not what I expected
I got stuck chatting with my mail carrier, Deb, outside my place in Albany last Tuesday and randomly asked what happens to all the Santa letters kids send in December. She laughed and said most get tossed in a bin at the sorting center, but she personally keeps a shoebox of the ones with a return address and hand writes a little reply to each kid. I asked how many she had done and she said 137 over the past six years. My brain short circuited a bit, I just thought mail was mail. Is it normal that I now think about Deb and her shoebox like once a day, or do I just have too much time on my hands?
