inPointed my telescope at Orion for 45 minutes and got nothing but blur
Forgot to collimate" is kind of a big deal though lol. I mean yeah it sucks you wasted an evening but it's like forgetting to put gas in the car before a road trip. Not exactly a little mistake.

inRant: The pork bellies from our main supplier went from perfect to flabby in just three months.
Did they change the transport or holding conditions too? A sudden shift like that makes me wonder if the pigs are getting stressed before processing now. Heat stress from a bad truck ride or holding pen can mess with fat quality just as much as feed. Maybe they're cutting costs on animal handling, not just the corn.

inI mean, I used to think those cheap universal O2 sensor sockets were fine, but after fighting one for 45 minutes on a Ford Escape, I just bought the specific $32 Lisle tool.
I always figured a wrench was a wrench. Then I tried to change the cabin air filter on my old Civic. The manual said you needed a special bendy tool to reach the clips. I fought with a screwdriver and needle nose pliers for an hour, breaking two clips. The seven dollar tool from the parts store had it done in thirty seconds. Never argued with a service manual again.

Ever try the silicone seal ones, way more comfy for long days?

inMy cousin asked me why we never make Great-Grandma's vinegar pie anymore
Right? "Cook it until it looks right" is the worst kind of instruction. I tried to make my mom's gravy that way once and ended up with something closer to tar. I feel for @eric93 too, because "add enough milk" is just as bad. It's like our grandparents were allergic to actual measurements. I guess we just have to keep messing it up until we have our own terrible pots to pass down someday.
