Saw a guy at the Charlotte auto show pulling dents with hot glue and a $20 tool, is this for real?
Went to a car show in Charlotte last weekend and there was this older guy in the parking lot doing paintless dent repair on a Civic with a hot glue gun and some cheap plastic tabs. I watched him pop out a quarter panel dent about the size of a grapefruit in maybe 8 minutes total. He told me he has been doing it 14 years and only breaks out the glue puller for hail damage or door dings where you cannot get behind the panel. I have been using the old hammer and dolly plus a stud welder for stuff like that and now I am second guessing myself. My concern is whether the glue pull can mess up the clear coat or the paint if you get the glue too hot. Has anyone here made the switch to glue pulling for smaller dents, and does it actually hold up long term or does the dent creep back?
