Shoutout to the guy who showed me how to sleeve my cards at PAX Unplugged in Philly

I was at PAX Unplugged last December and this random dude saw me struggling with penny sleeves for my deck. He walked over and spent 10 minutes showing me how to use Dragon Shield sleeves without getting air bubbles or creased corners. Turns out I was putting them in upside down the whole time! He even had a whole system for organizing expansions by color. After that, I redid my entire Gloomhaven set in one afternoon. It felt so good to have everything uniform and protected. Has anyone else had a stranger at a con change how you do something simple like this?

Overheard a security guard at Northpark Mall talking about the mannequins

I was poking around Northpark Mall in Joplin last year and this old security guard named Dave pointed at a mannequin in the window. He said "that one's been standing there since 2012, same pose, same dress, just gathering dust." It hit me that these places aren't just empty buildings, they're stuck in time with all these weird reminders of what used to happen. Has anyone else found weird stuff like that at a dead mall?

My air fryer basket coating started peeling after 6 months and now I'm scared to cook in it

Bought this Gourmia from Walmart back in March and the nonstick coating is literally flaking off into my food. I didn't even use metal utensils, just rubber tongs and sprayed it with oil. Contacted customer support and they said it's normal wear and tear so no refund. Anyone else deal with this and find a safe way to keep using theirs?

He was telling his friend that lump charcoal burns too hot and uneven for a long cook. It made me think about how I've always used B&B lump in my offset, and my results can be a bit all over the place. Maybe I should try a bag of briquettes for my next 14-hour smoke and see if it holds temp better. Has anyone else switched from lump to briquettes for long cooks and noticed a real difference?
