Why does nobody check their vise jaws for burrs before indicating a part?
Ran a batch of 40 aluminum brackets on the Haas VF2 this past Friday and the first 6 came out .008 out of square on the Y axis. Spent an hour chasing my indicator around before my lead guy walked over, ran his thumb along the fixed jaw, and found a burr the size of a grain of rice from a crash 3 weeks ago. I was fighting setup all morning when the real problem was a busted jaw face. Now I stoning the jaws before every new setup, takes 30 seconds. Anybody else get burned by something this dumb, or is it just me?
