Paid $150 for a 'premium' Edmonton chat app that just shut down
So last year I bought a lifetime subscription to this local chat app called 'YEG Connect' for $150, thinking it would be a good way to meet people. It was basically a paid version of a regular chat room, but they promised exclusive events and better moderation. The app just went offline last month with no warning, and the company isn't responding to emails. On one side, I feel like I got scammed and should have just used free groups. On the other, maybe paying was supposed to filter out trolls and it just failed. Has anyone else here lost cash on a local online service that folded?
