Unpopular opinion: That whole 'snow tires are a scam' take is wrong
I was talking to my neighbor Gary after he slid into a curb on 118 Ave last Tuesday, and he goes 'winter tires are just a money grab, all-seasons are fine.' But after he spent $800 on repairs, I told him about how my $600 set of winter tires saved me from hitting a bus last January. Has anyone else had a conversation that completely shifted their view on something like this?

That 'snow tires are a scam' thing, I totally used to buy into it too. Then I borrowed my buddy's car with winters on it during a bad snowstorm and it was like driving a different vehicle, night and day difference.

My neighbor laughed at me for buying winter tires until I drove him to work during that ice storm last month and he was grabbing the door handle the whole way there. After that he went out and got a set for his truck the next weekend.
