inJust realized my best digital art week was 5 years ago
Oh yeah, that "no commissions, no deadlines" part is key. My golden week was 2019 and I swear it was because I had zero expectations and a bag of gummy worms. Now my brain treats every sketch like a court case.

inPro tip: I compared a $15 plastic spackle knife to a $40 metal one for my drywall patch, and the difference was huge.
Yeah, I feel you on that. Sometimes the old reliable stuff just works and you don't see a reason to switch it up.

inShoutout to the guy at my local meetup who said my stabs were over-lubed
Wait, @sean_martin44, did you really say that guy was just wrong about it being overlubed? Because I gotta say, that's kind of a hot take in my experience. I've seen stabs where you could literally hear the lune pooling up when you press the key, and that's a whole different thing than a smooth, thocky sound. Your mileage may vary, but if the guy at the meetup was being polite and just pointing out that the pressure of the stabs felt a bit heavy or sticky, he might have had a point, not just hating for no reason.

inDropped $300 on a controller board that a 50 cent relay could have fixed
Wait, you dropped three hundred bucks on a board before trying a 50 cent fix? That's wild man, I always keep a handful of common relays in the glovebox just for stuff like that.

inBought a cheap welding hood off Amazon and it cost me $200 in rework
Oh man, you basically paid $230 for a lesson in "you get what you pay for" with that hood. I'm surprised it didn't start autodimming to the beat of your favorite song instead of the arc. Guess your eyes are the real victims of that Prime Day DEAL.
