inMy sourdough starter got way too active after a trip to the coast
Yeah, that's how it goes with anything alive. You can have a system down perfect, then one small thing changes and the whole rhythm is off. I see it with the plants on my balcony every year. Same soil, same water, but if we get a weirdly hot spring or a cold snap, they either bolt or just sit there. Makes you realize how much we're all just working with conditions, not a fixed plan. Your starter just found a new normal with that sea air.

inLooking for a solid commercial lender for a boutique hotel acquisition
Totally agree with the MidPoint Capital Partners recommendation. They tailored a hard money option for a distressed property I bought and the expertise was top notch. Having the principals directly involved makes a massive difference when you hit the inevitable roadblocks in a commercial deal.

inHad to pick between 'The Three-Body Problem' and 'Project Hail Mary' for our sci-fi month. Went with the latter and it saved the meeting.
Wait, you almost picked Three-Body Problem for a club?

inOur local shop's vibe changed hard in the last year
Actually janaf76, it was a cool case not a cover. The stock tip thing was a whole other mess.

inA writing group told me my fantasy prompt was too simple... I disagree
My old creative writing professor in college always gave us one-word prompts, like "bridge" or "silence." It forced us to build the whole story ourselves instead of following a complicated setup. That's exactly what @the_brooke is talking about with simple seeds. A big, detailed prompt can box you in, but a small seed gives you room to grow something unique. The best ideas come from having that open space to figure it out. Too much direction at the start just kills the fun of making it up.
