inMy balcony tomato setup used to be a total mess of small pots
Saw that same tip about fabric pots online.

inSerious question, did anyone else learn the Mohs scale wrong?
Nah, marking everything with reference numbers sounds like a huge hassle for no real gain. If your gear works, it works. Thomas83's boots still got him down the trail even with wrong mileage. Overcomplicating simple tools just creates more stuff to track and worry about.

inPSA: A landscaper in line at the hardware store changed my mind about post hole depth
Feel your pain on the clay soil. I had to redo a whole section of my own fence after a bad winter taught me the same lesson. That extra digging is a pain but it saves so much trouble later.

inI was using a 12-inch level to check for plumb on a 20-foot conduit run in a Denver warehouse and the client's engineer pointed out my error.
Oh man, that engineer just gave you a free master class in one sentence lol. I'd be standing there with my 12-inch level feeling like I just got caught using a toy hammer. Rivershah has the right idea, a laser is the way to go for anything taller than you are. Otherwise you're basically just hoping for the best, and that's a bad plan when stuff needs to be straight.

inI was reading a library book about adoption history and found a wild detail from 1950
Wait, was it actually fake names or just aliases? I ask because my aunt found her original birth certificate from 1952. It listed her birth mom as "Helen Brown," which sounds generic, but the social worker's notes later called it an "alias for confidentiality." So it wasn't random like Jane Doe, it was a made-up name they used on purpose to replace the real one. Honestly, it feels different than just a placeholder.
