Our park's new digital art screen has more bugs than my old laptop

Actually, those glitches sound like they made your art more interesting and alive.

Warning: Hand saw skills are disappearing from the trade

Funny how this happens everywhere once you start looking! We trade control for speed all the time and then waste hours fixing the mess. Like rushing a glue-up and having to redo the whole joint, or cranking the heat to cook something fast only to burn the outside. Slowing down to do it right the first time feels wrong in the moment, but it's almost always faster in the end. My sourdough definitely taught me that lesson the hard way.

PSA: People always talk about Rome falling, but I believe Ming China closing off was a bigger deal

In 1433, the Ming court stopped Zheng He's big treasure fleet trips. But saying this was worse than Rome falling ignores how Europe was already changing on its own. The Silk Road kept going for a long time after, and trade with China never really stopped. Rome's collapse messed up whole societies for centuries, while Ming policy just slowed things down a bit. We give too much credit to one decision when big history has many causes.

TIL why slow cooling on boiler welds isn't just a suggestion

You know, it's funny how sometimes the mess from a shortcut shows you exactly what you were trying to avoid in the first place. Like, you skip steps to save time, but then you spend twice as long fixing it, and that's when you really get how the whole thing works.

My design feed is just ads now, where's the real inspo?

Spot the same thing at my local park every weekend. People just chilling on blankets, sharing food. Kids kicking a ball around without a care. Old guys playing chess under the trees. Tbh, it's all right there if you just look up from your phone. Makes me want to leave mine at home sometimes.
