PSA: I think I broke a traffic light in my town for a solid minute

I was driving home on Elm Street yesterday and got stuck at a red light that just wouldn't change. After waiting through three full cycles of the cross street, I remembered a weird tip from a forum about turning your headlights off and on. I did it, and the light immediately turned green for me, but then it stayed green for a full minute while the other directions stayed red. Has anyone in the Springfield area ever had a traffic light just... respond to you like that?
