The yellowing on my old ThinkPad keyboard is actually growing on me
I see people online scrubbing their retro laptops with peroxide to get them white again, but I think the aged patina tells a story. My T42 from 2004 has this warm amber tone on the spacebar that matches the sticker from a coffee shop in Pittsburgh I went to that year. Has anyone else just decided to leave the yellow as is?

Get where you're coming from, but I actually prefer the original white myself. The yellowing just looks dirty to me, like it's been sitting in a smoker's house for years. Idk, maybe it's just cause I remember when these were new and the pale beige was part of the whole clean industrial design vibe.

Ha, fair enough, that actually changed my mind a bit. I used to be all about the aged yellow look on mine, thought it gave the room some character. But you're right, once you see it like a nicotine stain, you can't unsee it. @colemiller, I forgot how stark and factory-fresh the original white was. Maybe I just got used to my own junk over the years. I'm gonna start hunting for a cleaner shell now.
