The July week my inverter kept shutting off at 2 PM sharp

Three days in a row my array in Fresno dropped to zero right when the AC kicked on, and after swapping the breaker, the fuse, and yelling at the wiring, it turned out a squirrel had chewed through the sensor line on the roof, so has anyone else had wildlife cost them a full week of production?

Raccoons treated my inverter like a drive-thru last August and chewed through three cables before I found the nest under the panel. My electrician charged me $400 to tell me I basically had a furry saboteur with a taste for copper. Now I wrap everything in that bitter tape and my neighbor thinks I run a weird art installation up there. At least your squirrel was quick about it, mine took a whole weekend to evict and left a mess of stolen dog food wrappers behind. How do you even keep those little guys off the roof without going full fortress mode?

Bitter tape" is a good start but those sneaky trash pandas just love a challenge, don't they? Reminds me of the time a family of them figured out how to pop the clips off my crawlspace vent covers just to nap on the ductwork. Took me three tries before I bolted those things down with actual hardware, and I still catch them eyeballing the cheap plastic ones on my neighbor's place. At this point I'm half convinced they run some kind of local critter Yelp to rate the best chew spots. Is it weird that I lowkey respect their dedication to breaking in, or is that just the HVAC guy in me talking?
