The before and after on coolant mist collectors blew my mind

I ran a Haas VF-3 for about 4 years at a shop in Toledo with just a basic chip tray and no mist collection. The air in there was always thick with that coolant haze, you could smell it on your clothes driving home. Six months ago we got a new boss who put in a proper mist collector system, one of those ceiling-mounted units with the HEPA filters. After three weeks I walked in one morning and actually noticed the air felt clean, like you could see all the way across the shop without that blue-ish fog. My chronic cough I had for years just disappeared, no more clearing my throat every ten minutes. What caused it was just the shop finally spending the 4 grand on a decent collector instead of cheaping out. Has anyone else had their sinuses clear up after your shop upgraded their air handling?

Those high-end chisels I bought ended up being a total waste

I dropped $200 on a set of Japanese chisels thinking they'd be a game changer for my trim work. Turns out my old Stanley chisels hold an edge just as well after a good sharpening on a $15 stone. Has anyone else found that fancy tools don't always beat the basics?

Tried a different lube on my tower crane's slewing ring and it ran 20 degrees cooler after 8 hours on the job

Swapped from that standard lithium grease to a synthetic one with moly on a tip from an old operator in Tulsa and the temp gauge dropped way faster than I expected, has anyone else seen big temp drops with a specific brand?

That one Wednesday my whole flock decided to go rogue

So last week I let the girls out for their usual morning scratch around 7am and everything seemed fine. Then around 10 I go to check on them and half of them had squeezed through a gap in the fence I didn't even know existed into my neighbor's garden. It took me a solid 2 hours to round them all up and patch that hole with some scrap wood and zip ties. Has anyone else had a day where your chickens just turn into escape artists out of nowhere?

Always ran backup cutters with a 6-inch wheel, but a buddy in Corpus Christi showed me his 4-inch setup

He cut through a tight piling cluster in half the time and had way less hand fatigue after a 10-hour day. Have you guys tried downsizing your wheel for tight spots?
