inMy brother told me WD-40 fixes everything so I sprayed it on a squeaky hinge and it made it worse
Actually read somewhere that graphite powder is the move for door hinges because it doesn't attract dust and grime the way oils do. Plus it doesn't drip down and make a mess under the hinge like liquid lubes can. Switched over myself after reading that and haven't looked back.

inTook me 5 hours to fix a crack in a slab I poured last Tuesday
I mean I get what you're saying @luna_sanchez but sometimes a crack just means the mix was too dry or the ground wasn't prepped right, and patching it just delays the problem. Idk, I'd almost rather rip it out now than gamble on it spreading later.

inJust hit 500 sourdough loaves this morning
Dude, I've got a whole notebook dedicated to this. Started tracking my bakes in early 2020 too, and I'm somewhere around 430 right now. Those first tries were brutal, mine were basically doorstops until I learned my starter needed a solid 8 hour feed before mixing. I mark each one with a little star if it turned out perfect, and there's a lot of blank spaces from those early months. It's cool to look back and see how much better I got, even if I still screw up shaping sometimes.

inOld cabinetmaker told me to never sand MDF with anything finer than 120 grit
Honestly I think part of it is we get so focused on making it look smooth we forget the paint needs something to grip, almost like we're polishing it for no reason instead of prepping it for what comes next.

inVent: chose power stretcher over knee kicker for a big living room job
Knee kicker all day for condos, that power stretcher just fights you every step.
