inGot called out for my sloppy film loading technique
Man, that floppy advance lever feeling is the worst... you don't even know something's wrong until you get the ruined scans back. LoganThompson has it right, clean edges really are the dream. It's one of those things the manual never mentions, you just have to wreck some expensive film to learn it. That old timer at the swap meet saved you a lot of future pain.

inA client's offhand comment about a Minolta X-700 made me reconsider my whole approach
Funny how a passing thought can change your whole view of a routine job.

inBought a $40 'universal' plate file for my first build and it was a total waste.
Cheap files on plastic are the worst, they just slide and leave a mess. I grabbed a set of those needle files from the hardware store and it was a total game changer. They actually bite into the material and give you real control. Makes cleaning up 3D prints or modifying parts way less of a headache.

inMy new fountain pen bled through three pages of my Leuchtturm journal
So what's the actual paper weight where feathering stops being a problem? Leuchtturm is 80gsm, and that clearly fails. Is there a known good threshold, or does it depend too much on the specific paper coating?
