inI thought those new composite fence posts were just a gimmick, but a job in Phoenix changed my mind
And that monsoon test is the real deal, @dylan_stone33. I've seen pressure treated posts start checking and twisting after just one summer in Arizona heat. The composite stuff doesn't wick moisture from the ground either, so you don't get that constant rot line at the soil level. The only catch is you gotta pre-drill if you're running screws near the edges, they can crack if you get cocky with a impact driver. Otherwise I'm sold, especially for any job where the homeowner plans to be there longer than 5 years.

inHad a 2018 Ford F-150 with a coolant leak that two shops missed
Totally agree with shane_moore87, a visual check is step one for a reason. I had a blown head gasket on my old Mustang that would've been caught way earlier if I'd just looked for the trail of coolant dripping down the block instead of trusting the pressure test alone. A quick eyeball saved me from replacing a radiator that was actually fine, the real issue was a cracked hose right at the clamp that was barely visible without pulling the air box.

inMy great aunt's gingerbread was always a dry brick until I found her old notebook
People get real serious about baking chemistry on here.

inI used to think networking was just awkward small talk until a recruiter gave me a real tip
My buddy Steve at the hardware store tells me the same thing happens with customers every time... you ask about their garden shed or a deck they built themselves, and suddenly they're telling you about their whole life story. @wendygarcia it's like people want to share the real stuff but need a little nudge first. I've noticed it at cookouts too, ask someone about their grill setup and they'll talk for an hour about where it came from. Keeps things simple and honest I guess.
