Vent: My supervisor told me my harness checks were too fast for safety

He said I was going through the pre-dive checklist like a robot and missing loose straps, so I slowed down and actually found a frayed buckle I would have skipped over... has anyone else had to relearn their routine from a harsh critique?

The buckle thing hit home for me. I used to blast through truck inspections at a warehouse and my supervisor told me I was moving too fast to catch anything. So I started saying each step out loud while touching the part, almost like a slow movie voiceover. It felt dumb at first but I caught a cracked air line that would have dumped brake fluid everywhere. Now I just take the extra 90 seconds and it's saved me from way bigger headaches.
