The phrase 'the customer is always right' needs to die already

Oh come ON. You pay good money for something and you're supposed to just accept whatever garbage service you get? That's not entitlement, that's basic expectations. When I pay $12 for a sandwich and wait 20 minutes while the kid behind the counter plays on his phone, I'm not asking for a miracle. I'm asking for what I PAID for. Restaurants need to actually deliver on what they promise or people have every right to be upset, plain and simple.

Neighbor's comment made me redo my whole shed foundation

Reminds me of the time I built a birdhouse and put the perch right below the entrance so raccoons could just reach in and grab eggs. Old timer at the hardware store just looked at me and said "you planning on feeding them or housing them?" Ended up redrilling the whole thing, felt like a real genius that day. Sometimes you just gotta swallow your pride and admit the expert knows better even if it means more work.

I finally learned what a torque wrench extension does to readings

You know, I've been thinking about that "offset distance" thing and it's not just the crows foot. The angle you hold the whole setup at matters too. If you're not perfectly 90 degrees to the bolt axis, you're adding a cosine error on top of the extension math. I'm not sure why nobody talks about that part of it, but it can throw things off by a few percent on top of everything else.

Debate: Should I fix my busted hot tool or just buy a new one?

Three weeks ago I would have said you were exaggerating. My uncle ran a tire shop for 25 years and swore he never saw a wheel split like that. But last Tuesday I was driving my old F150 on I-94 and heard a loud pop from the rear. I pulled over and the entire outer half of the alloy was gone. Just the inner rim holding the bead together by maybe an inch of metal. Changed my whole view on cheap aftermarket wheels.
