inA chat with a solar installer about conduit runs changed my approach
Totally agree with that installer. I started running an extra empty conduit from the main panel to the attic space on every job, just for future wires. It costs almost nothing during the rough-in and saves a massive headache later. @patricia_morgan32, I feel you on the retrofit pain, that's exactly what this avoids.

inFinally bought a $150 label maker for my van's parts bins and it saved me a whole afternoon yesterday.
My garage looked like a tornado hit it for years because my masking tape labels would fade or fall off. I finally borrowed a neighbor's label maker last month and labeled every bin in one afternoon. Now I can actually read what's in the containers from across the room, and nothing has peeled off yet. It felt silly to spend the money at first, but seeing everything stay organized has been totally worth it for me.

inWhy does nobody talk about salty air ruining tools on coastal repair trips?
Picture salt creeping into the tiny gears of your power drill. It forms a gritty paste that slowly grinds everything to a halt. The tool looks clean but dies from the inside without any warning.
