That time I put a Honda engine in a Ford Fiesta

Last August I shoehorned a D16Z6 into a 1989 Fiesta. Thing ripped but the wiring harness looked like spaghetti thrown at a wall - has anyone else tried a weird engine swap and regretted the electrical work?

Nah, masking tape is a rookie move. Heat shrink labels or bust.

That spaghetti wiring harness bit really hit home for me. I did a similar thing with a Miata engine in an old Dodge Colt and the wiring was the worst part by far. I ended up just labeling everything with masking tape and a sharpie, but about a third of the labels fell off after a few days. Then I spent two weekends with a multimeter just tracing wires, which is about as fun as it sounds. Next time I would just buy a pre-made harness or pay someone to build one, even if it costs more than the engine itself.
