inJust changed my mind about using a regular drill for post holes in rocky ground. What was supposed to be a 2-hour job in my own backyard took me the whole weekend.
Oh man, "the whole weekend" hits home. I tried using my regular drill for fence posts in what I thought was just hard dirt. Turns out my yard is basically a gravel pit. I spent more time swearing and trying to sharpen the auger bit than actually digging. My arms were jelly by Saturday night and I still had to rent a proper post hole digger on Sunday. Never again.

inChoosing between a water pan and a dry smoke for my last brisket
My buddy in Austin swears by a dry smoke, but @alice991 has a point about wrapping it.

Finding real stuff is the whole point. Adam's posts work because they feel genuine, not set up. That authenticity is what makes his content worth following. When things look staged, it kills the fun of discovery. You can always tell when someone is being honest versus when they're just putting on a show.

inWarning: The new sand binder at the Cedar Rapids plant clumps if your humidity is over 60%.
Absolutely, we had the same thing happen last spring... switched to a new binder to save a few bucks and lost a whole day's pour. The stuff just turned to concrete in the hopper when our bay hit 65%. Had to go back to our old supplier.

inMy friend said a heat pump would cut my heating bill in half, but my electric company says different
Exactly, lily_ramirez4. I switched to a cheaper internet plan last year, only to get hit with a new "router rental" fee I didn't have before. What finally worked was calling and asking them to break down every single charge, then telling them straight up to remove the new fee or I'd cancel. They usually fold if you're direct.
