Why does nobody talk about using a cheap pencil board for ghosting?

Oh man, that reminds me of the time I tried to use a leftover vinyl floor tile as a cutting board for crafts... it was a total mess. The exacto knife just skidded off and I nearly took my thumb off. Ended up with a weird, waxy curl of plastic stuck to the blade forever. Those thin mats sound way smarter.

Spent 4 hours chasing a phantom misfire on a '17 F-150 EcoBoost

Those PCV valves are a real weak spot on the 3.5s... the diaphragm just gets brittle. It's a cheap part that causes a really expensive-sounding problem. Always check that hose for oil sweat first, it's a dead giveaway.
