Shoutout to the guy who brought a live crab to the line for a special order

It escaped during a busy Saturday service in Portland and we had to chase it around the kitchen with tongs for ten minutes. Anyone else had a protein decide to make a run for it?

My buddy Mike worked at a seafood place and they got a special delivery of live eels. One of those slippery guys shot right out of the tub and slid across the floor like it was on a water slide. The whole kitchen staff ended up in a wild slippery chase, trying to corner it with a bus tub and a fry basket. They finally got it, but not before it did a lap around the dishwasher's ankles. Total chaos for a Tuesday lunch rush.

That crab had a better escape plan than most of my weekend plans.

Haha that's too real. I got stuck in a rut like that last year. Honestly, just picking one small thing to do, like a walk in a new park, broke the cycle for me. It sounds dumb but it made the rest of the weekend feel less like a waste. Now I try to have one loose plan, even if it's just trying a new coffee spot. Otherwise I'll just doomscroll and the whole time is gone.
