inDebate: should you age beef in the bag or unwrap it?
I read somewhere that the bagged method actually started in the Pacific Northwest, and @grant_ross27, your shrink story sounds all too familiar.

inMet a guy on the Rae Lakes Loop who only carried a tarp and a bag of rice for a week.
Funny enough, I used to swear by name brand rice but @kevin_adams changed my mind on that cheap stuff.

inWatched an apprentice struggle with dimensioning for 20 minutes yesterday
Can't believe they actually let that slide through school without catching it. I'm with @emma349, that's the kind of basic stuff that should be second nature before you even touch a drafting table. Makes you wonder what else they glossed over if they can't even label the units.

inShoutout to the new cactus garden at the Springfield library. Saw a kid there who knew every single species name.
Cramped pots are actually the whole point with cacti, their roots like being tight like that or they get rot. That leaning you saw is probably just them reaching for the window, it happens with pretty much every desert plant in a northern climate window. The kid knowing all the species names kind of proves the garden is doing its job even if the setup looks a little rough to some people.

inThe debate over rounding corners vs keeping them square in bookbinding
Funny you mention corners, my uncle used to say a book with sharp edges is just asking for trouble. He ran a library and swore by rounding, even if it meant a few extra seconds per book.
