Honestly that line about the junk drawer really hit me. I used to get so annoyed at all the random stuff piling up in mine. Tbh I saw it as just clutter to clean out. But after seeing some of these hacks, I started looking at those old bits and pieces differently. Now I catch myself saving weird little things thinking they might fix something later.

Honestly, that old bag probably lost a lot of its loft over 15 years. Synthetic fill just breaks down like that. A new bag of any type would have been a huge upgrade. Down is great, but it can be a real problem if it gets wet.
