The weird thing about the gas station on 5th Street

Wait, have you ever considered that maybe the bubble is the only thing that makes sense? In my experience, weird stuff like that bookstore just happens sometimes, no reason. The idea that there are whole other versions of places right next to us feels way scarier to me than a simple vanishing. It means nothing is ever really solid, you know? I'd rather believe a place closed overnight than think I could just slip into the wrong version of my own kitchen.

Vent: My kiln door seal is failing and I'm losing heat during firings.

Hold up, using general furnace gasket material sounds risky to me. That stuff isn't made for the repeated thermal cycling a kiln goes through. I've seen it get brittle and flake apart after a while, leaving little fibers everywhere. Pottery specific products are tested for that exact environment. Saving a few bucks isn't worth the chance of a failed seal mid firing.

Question about those new push-in wire connectors

Yikes, that's scary.

Looking at my old packing list from a 2015 trip to Rome... it's a different world now.

Remember when that was the height of cool tech? He must have felt like a king with his own little movie theater while the rest of us were stuck staring at the seatback in front of us. Honestly, I kind of miss the commitment it took to watch a movie back then, having to carry those discs around in a separate case. It was a whole production compared to just pulling out a phone. Makes you realize how fast things changed. That bulky player is probably in a landfill now, replaced by a thousand streaming apps.

Serious question, I had to pick between excavating a Roman mosaic or a medieval well at our site in York last month.

Wait, you can see pictures of the mosaics in books? Our school just had a paragraph and a blurry black and white photo.
